Playing comfortably in odd meters is a must skill. This class introduces techniques for the development of a complete odd meter style.

 

BIG BAND DRUMMING

This class examines what it takes to be a big band drummer, by analyzing the styles of four big band band masters: Buddy Rich, Sonny
Payne, Mel Lewis, and Sam Woodyard.

 

RUDIMENTS, STICKING AND THEIR APPLICATION ON THE DRUM SET

This class will focus on rudiments, stickings and how they can be applied on the drum set in a variety of musical styles.
 

DRUM SOLOING

This class will analyze different soloing approaches in a variety of musical styles.
 

DOUBLE BASS DRUMMING

This class focuses on the development of a double bass drum style.
 

POLYRHYTHM AND CROSS RHYTHM

This class examines the concepts of polyrhythm, cross rhythm and their application on the drum set.
 

BRUSH TECHNIQUE

Brush playing is an art unto itself. This class will introduce a variety of techniques to develop a personal brush approach.
 

THE LINEAR CONCEPTION

What is a linear conception and how to develop one will be the focus of this class.
